"The Rémy Martin decanter has this
radiant presence; it shines through.
Colour is the most direct way to
approach it. Since it contains a
liquid, it changes depending on the
light. I played with this effect and
opted for a much simpler design."
Anish Kapoor doesn't study objects,
but the relationship we have with
them, the meaning we give them,
until meaning itself becomes the
subject.
"I'm looking for this kind of
in-between. Somewhere between
meaning and meaninglessness.
Objects aren't simply as they're
described. Most of them have a
double life : the one they claim and
another that is linked to the idea
we have of what they could be."Anish Kapoor.
